@FemFloodFanatic What sites have been working for you?
@FemFloodFanatic I'd love to know what sites you have found that work better for you. i was on the fence about joining AFF. But this might be the last straw. TOO many fake profiles Just look at the amount of "Joined Today" profiles there are. 99.9% FAKE.
@pussyeater74434 if the website would just use their IP address to confirm their general location, at least the country vs where they say they are, it would help
@FemFloodFanatic no worries. i figured they would.
You want more money for service that either don't work or barely work at all like the instant Messenger
Please provide us the details of the problem(s) you are experiencing with Instant Messenger on Technical Issues, Bug Reports, and Site Feature Guidance May 2024 so we can assist. Thank you.
@jdlover221 I totally agree, the IM has NEVER worked well. I won't be renewing
@SiteSupport what, after a post that has been up for 17 hrs, been now denied?
It was a post that you responded to and I posted a response to that?
The IM issue has been an on going problem for about a decade now. 22 years ago it worked with little to no problems. When something works fine don't fuck with it.
@Awiredwho 12 years ago it was iffy at best
@Awiredwho I concur. I've been here for (almost) 20 years and IM has been unreliable and flaky the entire time...which is shocking, given that all kinds of other sites have rock-solid implementations and that the source code for some of those is open-source and free. Consider what this means: it's a basic feature. It's one that some of us pay for. And it has NEVER worked reliably in all the time I've been here. That's inexcusable. It's like having a hotel website where reservations don't work. Moreover, each successive version of the IM implementation has been worse, and frankly, I'm puzzled as to how that's even possible. What is your software development team doing all day, and do they have any concept of how to do QA?
@YourFingers2 auto bot? Who were you referring to?
@YourFingers2 I do agree that they are pricing themselves out of usability. The influx of false users from the country of Columbia that are listed as a local user has gotten to the point that they overwhelm the camera broadcasting. This website could filter out profile that their IP header for the country does not match their posted location
Awesome so the high price of gold stays the same while they take features away so you have to pay even more to get them. At least lower the cost of gold membership now that everyone is getting less for it.
Typical corporate greed, they want you to pay more for less while they scalp the sheep.
Good luck with that, won't do any of it. purchased gold, it's broken. that's over $500 additional per year to have all the past functions back now called 'features.' won't do this again
I will probably not bother renewing .
So my autorenew is set on. Fine. It can bill me at 29.95 a month either 1 month, 3 months or 6 months. All of them at $29.95. So how is the 6 month package the "Best Value"? Works out to the same $29.95 a month. Best for who?
Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. It seems like either a bug or an oversight, and I agree that it doesn't align with the packages we usually offer. I will escalate this to the appropriate team for further investigation and resolution.
They also more than doubled the point requirement to get gold memberships (4400 to 9000)
Is it to late to get a refund
In most cases, members are typically eligible to request a pro-rated refund within 170 days of your initial transaction date. Please reach out to our billing department if you wish to proceed. It's important to note that upon the expiration of your current membership, you will be subject to our new subscription packages if you decide to become a Gold member in the future.
There used to be a silver membership....one where there were less perks than a gold membership. some people just want to be able to chat in the chat rooms. They don't even care if they can't view profiles or send/receive messages. Is there any possibility that the site will consider something like that? Not everyone can afford a gold membership...
Thank you for your suggestion. I will forward it on to the appropriate team for future consideration. The Voyeur and Interactions packages can be purchased separately and do not require a Gold subscription.
@SiteSupport thank you for your quick response. Neither of those two packages gives a user the ability to just chat in the rooms.
@SiteSupport imo, the site is going to lose a lot of standard members who don't have the funds to pay for gold, period. If the site would offer a silver membership which enables the user to chat in both the public and community chat rooms, at least the site would get some money from them.
This is a good idea. Silver for some basic communication like this new gold. Then gold could include more than today. And, how about a platinum for everything. This seems much simpler than this new hodge podge of packages
I have been a member off and on over a few years. The single biggest issue that keeps me from paying now is the proliferation of fake profiles. I get tons of views, a few messages, many hotlists and flirts each day. Every one of them is so obviously fake I can’t see the point of paying for that. If I lose access so be it. If that issue is fixed, I w reconsider.
I'm just pleased I didn't renew my gold membership and I'm now a standard member.
Comical!
You guys make it really hard for people to want to pay for membership. I love being able to look at people's photos and vids. Its the only reason I subscribe. But your site works worse than Facebook, which now has a free dating platform. Sure, you can't post dirty stuff on it, but I can find the same people on there as here. The only difference? Facebook works 99% of the time. So tell me, why should I be inclined to pay more when I'm getting less?
Thank you for your comment. Please remember that you will retain your current Gold member benefits as long as your membership remains active. If you decide not to renew but still enjoy viewing other members' photos and videos, you might consider a Voyeur subscription, which can be purchased separately and independently of a Gold membership.
@SiteSupport yeah, I read your post. But not everyone has the ability to keep their gold membership going. I, personally, don't stay subscribed because I use gift cards and get robbed 1/2 of my subscription term every time. Partly from the site breaking all the time. And mostly from the companies who take their cut that you don't mention in the fine print...
Plus, I tend to come and go. So that means I have to pay for the site when I don't want to use it, too? Just to keep a cheaper cost?
Please tell me where that makes sense!
Oh, and before you copy and paste your technical support sphil... Any time that I report any issue with the site glitching... IT DOESN'T WORK BECAUSE NOBODY EVER RESPONDS!!! You send an email to TS and it gets lost to the unknown.
Yea all this was once free on clist & many other. Sure it was filled with a lot of fakes scammers etc. But so is AFF. Its barely better & aff instead of working to make any changes to help that or weed out those scammers/fakes rather loves to keep them all they can as they think it adds to their numbers making them appear for advertising & enticement purposes but of course they do obscurely add a lil bitty disclaimer star there. You know the " microprint". Typical corporate thinking we all stupid. as in we won't notice same box food is only now half full. a so called "green waste". Or instead, just raise price we try hoodoo customer with smaller box. so unknown to us they have to re-tool the packaging which cost us even more eh. WE NOTICE. WE VOTE WITH OUR RESOURSES. THEY WILL NOTICE THAT SOON.
This suck donkey dicks. I'll be leaving the site.
I've been here for 20+ years and as long as these ridiculous new packages are in place it will be my last time paying for membership. GOLD should mean GOLD!
Sad too, as it was once a great place (even with all the technical bugs) and I met some wonderful people.
I will be reaching out to you via email to address your concerns with your Gold membership.
As soon as my points are gone I'm out of here. You've lost a long time customer.
This is horseshit. I've been a user of this site off and on for a few years now, never consistently, and it's borderline unusable now. IM's have been increasingly an issue for a long time, to many complaints from users, you can't even see who's interacting you without paying almost as much as the gold membership now
Is the site going to keep going with the Icebreaker Program? I get a dozen messages from new members every day and help them navigate the site...
I'm not aware of any plans to change the Icebreaker Program at this time.
@SiteSupport I ask because I have had the 'renew your gold membership asap before it runs out' banner on my main page for about a month now. My gold from the icebreaker program runs out June 2
@AmyGood4Mea As long as you meet the requirements to maintain your IceBreaker you should be unaffected by the change. If I get word otherwise I'll reach out to let you know
Can you give us prices for these different packages?
I will circle back to your comment once I confirm pricing.
@SiteSupport thank you
$14.99/mo for Interactions, and another $14.99 for Voyeur package. Recurring change setting is automatic. Looks like it forces renewal monthly.
@TatasinOK @sitesupport how about the gold and chat plus?
Wow this is complete Bull. One more reason NOT to renew.
Sadly this was done about a month after I renewed for a year. Had this happened before I renewed I would have closed my account, removed my content and given this site the finger.
Horrible choice aff.
Another huge issue. When you search for people, you get folks who haven't been on the site in 10 year. It makes everything look inflated. Accounts that have been inactive for more then a year should be archived and hidden even if they are paying members. They can be marked as current when they decide to log back in.
Thank you for your comment. If you have any further feedback or suggestions we'd like to hear about them. You can post them on this blog Member Feedback and Suggestions May 2024
Guaranteed we won't renew.
I've been on this site for around 20 years. Saying goodbye with this poorly thought out change.
You will be grandfathered in and retain your current Gold membership benefits if your membership does not lapse. If you allow it to lapse however, you will be subject to the changes to our subscription packages.
@SiteSupport I love the phrase "you will be subject to the changes..."
I went to extend my gold membership, and this is a screenshot of the paywall:
We identified this issue and escalated a bug report to our development team. We anticipate this will be resolved soon.
Obviously this is a money issue. As youve stated the cost of doing business has increased and as a small business owner I agree. So your answer is to penalise those with Gold membership. I would rather see a 'User' pay system. Far too many standard members on here paying nothing which is revenue lost. At the moment Gold membership is your highest revenue earner and yet youre struggling. Why? Because the amount of Standard Memebers is increasing, the use of bots, inactive/ fake profiles and scammers. Making it a User pay system may eradicate some of these issues with exception of your usage of Bots and Inactive profiles. No longer will I pay extra for standard members to be able to contact me. If they want to be on here then they can pay.
Thank you for your comments. To clarify, we do not use or endorse the use of bots. Contrary to popular perception, once we identify a fake profile without a shadow of doubt, it is immediately deactivated.
@SiteSupport Let's be honest, you don't identify fake profiles you sit on your hands waiting for the paying members to report these fakes. Ok, lets give you the benefit of the doubt re the usage of bots, however you failed to mention the over usage of inactive profiles. Was that an oversight or a deliberate attempt to avoid the question? and what about the situation with standard members? You obviously have no intention of changing the situation as you need to try to increase the ratio of women to men on this site. It is very apparent that your attack on the Gold membership will sustain a huge decline. Time to come up with a better business plan.
